Our Inspiration

Mitomill is inspired by the union of our mitochondria. Often referred to as the power plant of the cell, it also marks a 2 billion year old coupling that spawned life as we know it today. The endosymbiotic union occurred when oxygen loving mitochondrial bacteria entered single cell anaerobic organisms to form the cells we are made of today. Thank you Lynn Margulis.

Awesome power plants

Mitochondria still maintain their own DNA within our cells. Like a watermill, mitochondria takes oxygen, fat, protein, and sugars and efficiently converts them to energy currency for our cells. In one day your mitochondria turns over, 30 gallons of oxygen and 110 pounds of ATP, an awesome amount of energy for your body.

Our mission

Mitochondrial function links to aging as their function detiorates with age. Mitochondria is also the gatekeeper for elegant cell death. One could say that your life is a function of the consensus of mitochondria in your cells. We believe that recent breakthroughs in mito research will transform aging and disease understanding. We support mitochondrial research with 2% of our net sales.
